MONITORING:
YOUR PUPPY WILL BE CURIOUS AND WILL TRY TO EXPLORE EVERYTHING KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON THEM WILL PREVENT BAD HABITS OR ACCIDENTS . WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PUPPY ALONE FOR THE FIRST 24 HOURS SO THAT YOU CAN MONITOR HIS/HER FOOD AND WATER INTAKE. BE AWARE OF FOREIGN OBJECTS THAT YOUR PUPPY MAY CHEW ON. WE RECOMMEND KEEPING PLAY AREA CLEAR OF EASILY SWALLOWED OBJECTS OR SMALL TOYS. "KONG" TOY PRODUCTS ARE GREAT AND DURABLE ALSO EASY TO KEEP CLEAN. OUR GUYS ALSO LOVE BALLS AND STUFFED ANIMAL TOYS. MONITOR YOUR PUPPY PLAY TIME WITH TOYS AND IF THEY BECOME DESTRUCTIVE REMOVE THAT TOY IMMEDIATELY SO THEY LEARN PROPER PLAY MANNERS. MOST ROPE TOYS CAN BE EASYLY TORN AND THE RISK OF YOUR PUPPY SWALLOWING THE STRANDS IS GREATER.
SHOTS, WORMER, TICKS AND FLEA CONTROL:
DO NOT FORGET TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR PUPPIE'S SHOTS. PUPPIES MUST HAVE THEM (ALL) FOR PROTECTION. THEY HAVE HAD THEIR FIRST 2 SHTS BUT WILL NEED THE THIRD AND RABIS SHOTS. YOUR PUPPY SHOULD ALSO BE WORMED EVERY 4 WEEK'S. WORMS DO REOCCUR. Your puppy is not fully vaccinated against parvo and several other diseases until they receive their final puppy shots. This means do not have you puppy around any other dogs, until they have received their final puppy shot, or they can contract this deadly disease.
WE RECOMMEND USING NEXGUARD FLEA AND TICK CONTROL IT IS AN ORAL TABLET GIVEN MONTHLY. THIS WILL PROTECT YOUR PET FROM FLEAS AND TICKS AND THE HARMFUL DISEASES THAT THEY CAN CAUSE. WE HAVE HAD GREAT RESULTS FROM NEXGUARD AS OUR AREA HAS BECOME VERY IMMUNE TO FRONTLINE. WE START OUR DOGS ON THIS AT 12 WEEKS OF AGE. PLEASE FOLLOW YOUR VETS RECOMMENDATION FIRST.
MONTHLY HEARTGUARD TREATMENT FOR HEARTWORMS IS ALSO NEEDED TO PROTECT OUR PETS. WE ALSO START THIS AT 12 WEEKS OF AGE. PLEASE FOLLOW YOUR INDIVIDUAL VET RECOMMENDATION.
HAIR CARE:
KEEP YOU PUPPY FREE OF MATT'S & DIRT. CHECK THE PAWS FOR ANY FOREIGN OBJECTS. EARS NEED TO BE KEPT CLEAN AND WATCHED FOR DIRT OR MITES ON A WEEKLY BASIS. NAILS NEED TO BE TRIMMED ON BI WEEKLY BASIS. THEY ARE STARTED WITH NAIL TRIMMINGS ON A WEEKLY BASIS SO THEY ARE USED TO BEING HANDLED AND HAVING NAILS TRIMMED. WE START WEEKLY BATHS, NAIL TRIMS, AND BLOWDRY ON A TABLE AT 4 WEEKS OF AGE SO YOUR PUPPY WILL COME HOME HAPPY AND ENJOYING ITS SPA TIME. PLEASE MAKE BATH TIME FUN AND YOUR PUPPY WILL BE LIKE OUR AND SNEAK IN THE BATH AT ANY CHANCE IT HAS. DO THIS BY GENTLE MASSAGE, PRAISE, GENTLE VOICE, AND POSITIVE ENERGY.
BATHING YOUR PUPPY:
WE USE PUPPY SHAMPOO, RINSE WELL AND DRY. WE NEVER POUR WATER ON THEIR FACE. WASH THEIR HEADS WITH A WASH CLOTH. WASH FROM THE NECK BACK TO THE TAIL. KEEP PUPPY WARM WHILE BATHING AND DRYING.
